While many American sock knitting businesses have moved production overseas, DeFeet maintains a local supply chain with production in North Carolina. All of DeFeet's Merino wool comes from happy sheep in the Rocky Mountains and is washed and dyed in North America.
COSMETIC BLEMS: these are socks that failed the "appearance test" in quality control. There is nothing wrong with them physically - but they may have pinbk thread where they should have purple, or part of lizard didn't get stitched right so it's mssing part of its foot. Honestly, we think some of the blems are prettry cool and usually keep them for ourselves! Some you have to work pretty hard to find the blemish. The people at DeFeet flag these for us knock a few bucks off the price so we can pass that savings on to you. The blem socks aren't packaged in the cardboard wrap; you just get a sweet pair of socks.
